Get to know Silvia!
Silvia Mittermuller
Originating from Munich, Silvia is one of the few German snowboarders to have made an international impact on the sport through the years. Learning to snowboard in 1997, she has grown into a very well-rounded rider, able to take it from the pipe and park to the pow with ease and complete a balanced season comprised of strong video parts and competition results. Silvia spends a lot of time in the United States in her favourite resort Breckenridge to fine-tune her park skills when not traveling for events or photoshoots otherwise.

What’s happening in Silvia’s world right now?
Boom, it´s already February!
Once the season really kicks off with all the events in Jan/Feb, it feels like the day should have 48 hours! I know it will feel like the blink of an eye that I wake up and it´s already May…
The winter started off amazing, got 5th in the Dew Tour and had one of the best pre-seasons of my life here in Breckenridge. Then the unlucky number (20)13 came around and all events have been cursed ever since – so much snow (no speed) during the first World Cup in Copper Mtn that you couldnt take it serious, strom and -30°C at World Champs in Quebec, stayed an alternate at X Games and never got into the main event, Olympic Test event in Sochi got cancelled (not enough snow), European Open got cancelled (too much snow)…
But now I´m back in my fairy tale paradise Breck and the world is coming back together. I´ve learned some new tricks I thought i´d never be capable of and feel strong like possibly never before. Maybe 2013 isn´t a unlucky number in the end…we´ll see how it goes from here!
Next events – US Open/Vail (this one not 100%), Nescafé Champs/Leysin, World Cup/Czech, World Cup/Spain…
