Get to know Silvia!
Originating from Munich, Silvia is one of the few German snowboarders to have made an international impact on the sport through the years. Learning to snowboard in 1997, she has grown into a very well-rounded rider, able to take it from the pipe and park to the pow with ease and complete a balanced season comprised of strong video parts and competition results. Silvia spends a lot of time in the United States in her favourite resort Breckenridge to fine-tune her park skills when not traveling for events or photoshoots otherwise.
What’s happening in Silvia’s world right now?
Wintertime +++ Here we go again!
How is it suddently already cold&snowy again, and I am back in Breckenridge/USA? It went so quick…!
Feels like yesterday that I was still in New Zealand, fighting fog and wind in the Slopestyle World Cup. It was a crazy competition, we were waiting 8 hours before we could start…in the Halfpipe Worldcup 2 days later, I crashed onto my shoulder again, which made me miss the amazing Australian snowboard events that I had won last summer and allowed me to ride with only 10% of my abilities in the Burton High Fives… NZ was a challenge this year…
Before returning to the USA, I spent a week in Japan with my Austrian friend Isy, jumping on some steep-landing-airbag-jumps that are only to be found in Japan so far.. That week made up for all the NZ troubles!
Now I´m back in Breckenridge, and with how fast time flies, it will feel like tomorrow when it´s time for the Dew Tour Championships, the Copper Mtn.&Stoneham Worldcup and the Sochi Olympics! Hopefully everything will go smooth!
